50th Anniversary Edition


MASONIC LODGE IS ALSO 50 YEARS OLD

The Masonic Lodge No. 576 of Anson was organized 15 December 1883. The first officers were:
Martin Duvall, Worshipful Master
George R. Sowell, Senior Warden
W.F. P'Pool, Junior Warden

The records of the organization were burned in 1893 when the town of Anson was destroyed by fire. The present copy is a duplicate of the original.

The officers of the lodge at present are:
C.C. Johnson, Worshipful Master
John W. Purifoy, Senior Warden
Joe H. Wheeler, Junior Warden
J.H. Warden, treasurer
J.F. Huie, secretary
