BUIE MAN OF TALENTS L.M. Buie, born in Kentucky, came here in 1881. He served as the second county judge of Jones County. Mr. Buie and his brothers established one of the first big farms about eight miles southwest of Anson in 1881. In 1900, Mr. Buie went to Stamford, where he helped organize and locate the town, was one of the organizers of the Stamford and Northwestern railroad and served as its first president. Mr. Buie married Miss Laura Moody of Stamford. He gave up active life and moved back to his farm south of Anson, where he died in 1918. He left his widow and two children.
