SARRELS PASTOR CHURCH FOR 22 YEARS The Harmony Primitive Baptist church of Anson, Texas, was originally constituted three miles east of Anson 12 April 1904. The charter members were: J.E. Touchstone and wife T.W. Rowland and wife W.J. Berryman and wife Brother Miller and wife T.H. Baucum The Touchstones and Baucums, well known in Anson territory, are descendants of these charter members of their names. Elder J.A. Goodwin, member of the presbytery that organized the church, served about five years as first pastor, followed by Elder H.C. Marcum whose pastorate closed in 1911. Elder Sarrels has served since 1911. The presbytery was composed of Elder W.M. Lago, S.L. Rivers, and J.A. Goodwin. In 1928 the church building was wrecked and rebuilt into a stucco which is located in northeast Anson. Elder R.V. Sarrels has served this church as pastor continuously for 22 years.
