Stamford Church of Christ close successful two-week meeting with Price Billingsley, of McMinnville, Tenn., doing the preaching. Price Billingsley of Breckenridge, father of the evangelist came to hear the preaching. Other guests at the 500 people, overflowing the closing lesson Sunday night were: Mr. and Mrs. Creath Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. G. Harvey of Nugent; Mr. and Mrs. Mack Wright, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Billingsley of Anson. L.D. Wade, formerly of Waco, has opened a sheet metal works business on South Ferguson Streets at McLendon. J.W. Dalton, manager of the Hall Music company, has purchased the residence property on North Swenson street and will move his family here from Winters. The local Ku Klux Klan pulled a barbecue and public speaking out near the College Lake Thursday night. It was estimated that over 2,000 people attended. Anson put one on Wednesday night and announced they would feed all who came. There were estimated to be 3,000 present. This paper is neither klan or anti-klan. It is a newspaper and will give the news as it find it about the K.K.K. the same as it does about any other organization. Our private opinion about the klan is not news. Layne-Yates Co.
