Lodge, a loyal and faithful Methodist, father and husband passed way Wednesday. His son Starkey, Jr., who is in school at Georgetown, and his daughter, Mrs. Yoakley of Nashville, Tennessee and a brother from South Texas returned home. W.D. Hodges of Tuxedo died Tuesday, Oct. 28th at his home from bladder trouble. His wife survives him. Member of the W.O.W.. He was buried Wednesday at the Fairview cemetery. Little Betty Jean Sitton, 10 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Sitton, passed away at the family home at Lueders early Thursday morning of infants complaint. Burial took place late Thursday afternoon at the Lueders cemetery. The grocery store of Sitton and Son on North Swenson Ave. became the property of V.G Kelley and he began active management of the same. Mr. Kelley is one of the popular cafe owners on North Swenson. Mr. C.E. Lemon will have management of the Kelley Cafe. Mr. Bird who formerly owned the farm of Chas. A. Corley in the Liberty community where he lived until two years ago, died after only two hours of suffering with paralysis in the 17th. Mr. Bird lived at Orth, in Young County and was a good man. Miss Nannie King of Haskell county died last Monday night and was buried in the Spring Creek cemetery. They lived in Avoca for some time and her father died while they lived here.
