Mrs. Lillian "Grandma" McCorkle of Lueders passed away Tuesday and the funeral was held at the First Baptist church in Lueders Wednesday morning with Rev. J.J. Gentry, pastor, conducting and Barrow Furniture Co. undertakers in charge. The woman was 80 years. Her husband passed away a number of years ago. Her daughter, Mrs. Scott of Lueders and a large number of grandchildren survive. She is the mother of Grandma Scott. Wednesday, March 11, Geo. Wills died in Lueders. Since the great revival of 1922, Mr. Wills has had a different view of life. We are grateful to God for this hope, for his bereaved wife and children, brothers and sisters. G.W. Wills was born April 8, 1877, in Hill County, died March 11, 1925. Was married to Miss Lizzie Bynum, Dec. 22, 1898. 9 children born to this union, 1 girl and 8 boys. Three children preceded him home to God. He leaves his family, four brothers, 2 half-brothers, two sisters. Body was laid to rest in Bethel cemetery, Funston, March 12, 1925. J.J. Gentry officiated. At 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 18th, Miss Lela Reed, the young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.E. Reed of West Oliver street passed away from influenza. She was only 20 years old. Funeral took place at the Nazarene church the following afternoon with Rev. J.L. Bates, pastor officiating and interment at Highland cemetery. Barrow Furniture Undertaking had charge. Out-of-town relatives: Mrs. Ford Aleus of Dublin; Mrs. G.A. Davison of Eastland; Mrs. S.H. Reed of Fort Worth; Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Reed of Henrietta, Mrs. Edgar Williams of Caddo; Mr. and Mrs. J.B. McDonald of Olney; Mrs. T.B. Banks of Corpus Christi. J.P. Johnson and wife, with daughter, Miss Nora of Lueders were visitors in the American office. Mr. Johnson and young wife, came to America in 1901 from Wexio, Sweden, and he was with the S.M.S. Ranch of Swenson Brothers until a few years ago when he moved to Lueders. His first wife died and he had his present wife come over from Sweden and they were married.
