The killing was at the rooming house of Lina Porter, colored, and was presumed to be caused by jealousy. Butler and the girl were married about two months ago and had lived at the rooming house while he worked at the Buick Garage. His wifeís people are said to live at Taylor, Texas. Her body was buried here Tuesday afternoon. E.J. Boedeker of Bunker Hill community was in Saturday with a bale of cotton and ginned with the Harrison Gin Co. on their round bale attachment. Contractor H.S. Nail is erecting a seven room brick residence on the lot next south of Carnegie library for himself. The Western Hardware Co., of Wichita Falls has leased the Flourney brick building on South Webb Street. D.B. Barnes of Stamford is their salesman. Mrs. A.H. Goldsticker has signed a contract for a swell duplex to be erected at once on her lots at the corner of East Oliver and North Wetherbee. L.T. Patterson and others of the Pleasant Valley community were in Stamford making arrangement to build a new Baptist church building in the community. Henry Scott’s father was buried in Anson Sunday afternoon. Henry is from the Lueders community. A.M. Henry passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Hester in Stamford, September 1st. He had been visiting friends in Rotan. He was 80 years of age and a good Christian man survived by his wife and two daughters: Mrs. Hester and Mrs. H.P. Joyner of Avoca. Rev. W.C. Moffett conducted the funeral Tuesday afternoon and interment was at Highland.
