Petty of Stamford has accepted a position with Jones, Cox & Co., of Haskell and will have charge of the furniture and undertaking department. Mr. Petty has been with the Penick-Hughes company for the past four years. Plan celebration on completion of City Auditorium says City Manager, Charles Zug, Jr. Willie Randolph Duke, 22 years, was killed at the oil mill last Friday morning when he became caught in some of the machinery and was beaten or crushed to death. Mr. Duke was employed at the old oil mill and had resided in Stamford for sometime, living with his father, C.E. Duke. Body was prepared for burial by Penick-Hughes undertaking department and sent to Whitney, Hill county, the former home of the deceased. Funeral was held there Saturday.
