Reunion comes off at Stamford, this week, it will be in order to give a rehearsal of their numerical strength and present official membership at this place, especially as the Anson Camp is one of the oldest and most active camps in this section of the state. Anson Camp has been organized about 10 years and has a membership of something between 75 and 100 members. Capt. J.D. Pickens is Commander, T.A. White first Lieut., Ed Kennedy is Adjt. and W.H. Wood Captain. Last Sunday the 7th, Mr. C.C. Craven manager of the Rust Pittard Drug store here took himself off to Merkel and brought back a bride. This afternoon, Mr. Dan Fry and the charming daughter of our Treasurer elect Ward, who live just west of town. Miss Eubanks of Abilene in company with the sister of our bachelor editor, Stockton Henry is visiting Mrs. Henry, Stock’s mother this week. An old Comanche county friend of ours, Mr. Geo. Morris and family are here visiting his uncle T.C. Morris. Messrs. B.F. Bailey, Sole Davidson and Mat Darnell, left for the World’s Fair yesterday. Mrs. Byard Brocket and sister Miss Kennedy, Miss Cannie Warren and Miss Lelia Nichols with others left for Galveston yesterday. Miss Bessie Davis is visiting at Roby again this week. Prof. Gill and wife have left for Bay City, where the Prof. has charge of the school for the next year. Mr. Frank Nellis carried Miss Willie Pickins to Stamford yesterday, where she took the train for Bay City to be gone until Christmas in attendance on the school at that place. Roscoe Orr and Miss Fairy Moody were down from Stamford this afternoon. Rev. Hanks of Stamford passed through town yesterday enroute from Prairie View where he had been assisting in conducting a meeting. Rev. Lowery of Waco will assist his brother, the pastor. Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Abbott returned from the World’s Fair in St. Louis. City Meat Market and Bakery. R.M. Dickenson, Prop. Tom Harrell and Bro. Rowell were in town Tuesday to see about lumber for a new church building at Funston. E.M. Douthit brought the first bale of cotton on the square Wednesday. He sold it a Penick-Hughes Co. at 10-3/4 cents. It weighed 525 pounds. King and Peycott brought a bale to Stamford gin Tuesday evening but failed to get it ginned. The premium which was about $60, was divided between Messrs. Douthit and King. Bob Terrell was badly hurt Monday evening by a runaway horse. Mr. Terrell was in the wagon and jumped out from behind and fell on the hard street. Mr. James Cardwell of McMinnville, Tennessee who has been visiting his sister, Mrs. S.
