Withers of Nugent was elected constable. Mr. Youngblood the contractor who built the jail, was here this week. F.A. Arnold and W.R. Chapman, attended court at Nugent last Saturday, and found Judge Greenwood there also. Marriage licenses have been issued to the following parties since Feb. 1st: R.C. Lee and Miss Annie Duie, O.E. Lawson and Miss C.J. Cunningham, and J. Hudson and Miss Imogene Johnson. Chas. Sparman, the Shoemaker of your town has taken up his abode with us. George Alexander has opened up a first class barber shop here, giving Anson two good shops. Local News Dr. C.C. Shell has been quite ill for the last 10 days with LaGripp. James F. Lemmon renewed subscription. Swenson Davis of Round Rock came by the office. W.R. Brown of Neinda renewed subscription. F.E. White, editor of the Lott Signal, is visiting his parents in Stamford. Married - G.E. Lawson and Miss Carrie Cunningham, Rev. J.A. Biggs officiating. Last Monday morning, at Mr. R.V. Colbert’s, soon after the cook had started the fire in the range there was an explosion that wrecked the stove and wrecked the cook, knocking out several of her teeth and making several contusions on her head. J.S. Clean and family have moved their household goods to Shawnee, Okla. and will soon follow. They have lived in Stamford for several years and it is with sincere years and it is with sincere regret. Shoe maker.
