Gast The Stamford Lodge of A.F. & A.M. last Friday in charge of R.L. Penick, Marshall, G.W. Dakan, W.M., attended the burial of Mr. J.M. Gast, a member of the Fairview Cemetery, some 10 miles west of Stamford. The Fairview, Wise Chapel and Abbie neighborhood lie side by side beginning at the east. The whole territory was a short time ago known as the Fairview community, but the country has settled up and there have been new school houses built and churches, and the lines of the people are yet very closely associated with each other. Mr. Gast lived near Wise Chapel. The religious service was conducted by Rev. Sam Voughn, a superannuated Methodist preacher, who has recently settled in the community. After the church service the body was buried by the beautiful and impressive ritual of the Masonic order. They have recently erected two as good church buildings as can be found any where, the Fairview Methodist church and the Fairview Baptist church. They have good school buildings and good schools, and prosperity seems to have bountifully smiled on them. From McCaulley W.D.
