He contemplates moving his gin to Rule on the Orient if the railroad comes. Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Fox of Haskell visited Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Barnett last Sunday. J.J. Atkinson, sheriff of Mills county, came up Tuesday and met Sheriff Hollis from Anson Wednesday morning with Dan Cardwell who was wanted in Mills county. Personal and Local The small child of Mr. and Mrs. Brewington is very ill at this time. Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Dickenson have a very sick child this week. Capt. J.L. fisher returned yesterday after a month’s visit to his daughters in El Paso. Rev. E.V. Zollers, D.D. president of Texas Christian University at Waco, was in Stamford last Saturday. Ennis Sutherland was fined $200 and 60 days in jail in the Federal court in Abilene this week for selling whiskey in Haskell. Miss Mervin Byers gave her Sunday school class and Prof. McDonald’s class a picnic last week. Rev. C.D. West and Mrs. West and daughter, Miss Jennie were in town yesterday. Bro. West is pastor of the Methodist church in Avoca. Anson Allsorts Elder Billingsley’s protracted meeting starts off like it will be a success. Judge Buie was here last Friday. Misses Blanch Brazemore and Pearl Moody of Stamford were here Saturday visiting the latters sister, Miss Laura Moody who has accepted a position in Buie & Kennedy’s Land office. Medames J.C. Bryant and Kate Bean of Stamford were visiting in Anson. R.A. P’Pool and mother of Munday are visiting here. W.N. Galbraith and George Flournoy were in the hub. Bud Milsap, Frank Holmes and Will McCright west to Fort Worth. The only marriage license issued this month was to O.H. Cooper of Stamford and Miss Nellie Harris. Editor Henry has sold the Anson Reporter. Prof. C.P. Jones and wife and Miss Mattie Gatewood of Ranger are visiting friends in Stamford.
