Thursday, Jan. 25, Miss Ruth was out of the room and heard her mother calling when she went to her, she found her on fire, her dress was in a flame nearly all over. Miss Ruth was badly burned on her hands and arms putting out the flame. The infant childn of Mr. and Mrs. Williams died Wednesday about noon. The child was two weeks of age. The Carney Pioneer comes to us under the proprietorship of R.S. Ragsdale and J.H. Lanier, with Ragsdale as editor. Local and Personal W.H. Splawn who lives north of town will receive the News regularly now. J.A. Forbs and family have located in Stamford. Mr. Fords is connected iwth Sherman Nursery. Miss Bessie Marshall, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Geo. Harris, left for her home at Allen. Dr. A.D. McReynolds returned from a visit to home folks in Kentucky. J.G. Carney and B.W. Gay left Wednesday for Blount Springs, Ala. to consumate a trade with a gentleman of that place for Mr. Carney’s propery in Carney. Married - Mr. T.R. Rogers and Miss Ada Stogner, at the gate of the home of the Baptist pastor, Elder F.S. Groner, who officiated. Mr. Robert T. Clark and Mrs. Celia V. Jackson were married at the home of Bro. Groner on Jan. 20, 1906.
