Greer as editor and proprietor. Mr. Greer is an old newspaper man and will no doubt make a success of his present enterprise. The Richardson Lumber Co. has secured the Star Wagon Yard and are putting in their stock. Mr. Richardson has charge. The infant child of W.W. Overton who lives six miles north of Stamford, died Tuesday night. The burial was in Stamford Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Rev. R.B. Evans conducting the services. Misses Garren and Foy will give a recital in the City Hall the night of the 13th, Tuesday. The Medical Association for Jones, Haskell, King and Knox counties met in the City Hall of Stamford Wednesday. Drs. C.M. Calloway, Dee Robertson, J.R. Sledge, C.C. Shell, C.H. Miller, W.H. Moore, Jones and Smith. Local and Personal H.R. Seward returned from Lott Sunday. J.E. Moody renews. Tom Shipley and wife left on the train Monday, he for Grandview and his wife for Oklahoma to visit relatives. D. Taylor and sons, Ernest and Charlie called at the News. Mr. Sauers spent Saturday in Albany with home folks. Mr. Joe Clark visted with the News. Mrs. J.R. Sledge left Sunday for Dallas to attend the grand lodge of Rebekah’s as a delegate of the Stamford Lodge. Rev. Z.P. Purtle, pastor of the Methodist church in Anson left on the Central train Monday morning to attend the state grand lodge meeting of the Indenpendent Order of Odd Fellows which convened this week in Dallas. The doctor will office inthe Masonic building. Born to Mr. and Mrs. J.a. McClaran a fine boy, Monday, March 5, 1906. James W. Robertson left for Dallas to find employment. Mr. J.M. Self who had his arm broken some time ago at the Pattillo building is improved. G.F. Williams, county surveyor has been in Stamford. Mr. E.P. Brown of Avoca was in town at the News. W.M. Hood was in town from Abbie with cotton. Rev. J.R. Morris will preach at the Methodist church. Mrs. W.J. Harrell is sick. Rev. R.W. Sides build a large house south of town. Joe Glenn, was badly hurt last Saturday when unloading lumber at the rear of the Pattillo new buildng. Anson All-Sorts The new little son of Mr. Thomas died by measles and whooping cough combined. He was 1 year old today. Measles is getting badly scattered. Attorneys B.B. Greenwood, Davenport and S.A. Martin are here from Stamford. E.N. Kirby of Abilene is here. Messrs Ed Martin and L.E. Steed have a very sick child. The new brick building is going up with a rush. Miss summer Hudson has returned from Waco.
