L. Paul, a young man 21 years of age died Thursday morning at 2 o’clock at the home of his parents on the south side of town. Mr. Paul recently moved here with his parents from Van Zandt county, and he with his mother had been seriously ill with typhoid fever for some time. The burial was yesterday evening in the Stamford cemetery. The flue in the second-hand store of G.I. Green caught fire, but was extinguished. From Saturday’s Daily The announcement of Methodist preachers is J.A. Briggs, Anson, C.D. West, Avoca and R.F. Brown, Anson. Manager Van Steinwyk, of the Stamford Mill & Elevator Co., is anxiously awaiting the arrival of its Electric Light Plant which will enable it to run full 24 hours. From Monday’s Daily Mrs. J.W.Dean who has been ill for a long time died last night at 11 o’clock. The services will be held at the residence this evening at 3 o’clock and the burial will be in the Stamford cemetery at 4 o’clock. Mrs. Dean’s death has been expected for a short time. Her husband died a short time since. She was a sister of Rev. J.A. Biggs. A.Q. Bateman has recently been looking around for a location and we learn that Snyder suits him. He has bought both residence and business lots and will engage in business there soon. Hamlin, Texas Our community was made sad Friday evening, Nov. 23 by the death of Mr. W.T. Johnson. His wife returned from the cow pasture and found him dead on the floor. He was a highly respected citizen and a member of the Baptist church.
