Sammons, who passed away yesterday at 1:15 in the afternoon after an illness of one month. Mrs. Sammons was born and reared in Sibley, Ill., and at the time of her death was 27 years of age. Her maiden name was Fannin and she an Mr. C.E. Sammons were married 9 years ago. Mrs. Sammons was a consistent Christian and member of the Methodist church and died in the triumph of Christian faith. She leaves a husband and four little children, the youngest an infant of a few weeks. The burial will be in Stamford Cemetery tomorrow, awaiting the arrival of her mother, sister and brother. The burial was at the City Cemetery following the funeral at the residence. Bro. Evans conducted the service. Her mother, sister and brother were unable to attend due to the amount of train wrecks and delayed trains. This morning Emmanuel Cullum, son of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Cullum died after a short illness at the home of his parents, with membranous croup. He was about six years of age and had only been sick a few days. Sunday morning between 11 and 12 o’clock, Mr. Oscar Shaw and Miss Flum McClintock were married sitting in their buggy in front of Mr. S. Gay’s residence, he is officiating in the ceremony which bound them in the holy bond of matrimony. These young people live some 12 miles east of Stamford. The bride is the daughter of Mr. J.H. McClintock. They were attended by some of their friends Geo. McClintock and the Misses Jenkins. From Tuesday’s Daily W.A. Marr T.P. Agent of the M.K.&T. is in town. Born to Mr. and Mrs. G.B. White a 12 pound boy last night. Fourteen immigrant cars reached Stamford yesterday and thirteen are expected today. J.A. Ward left on the train this morning for Avoca to build a residence in that community. Rev. Jerome Duncan and family arrived from Waco. Bro Duncan purchased a residence in Stamford some time ago. Coal famine in Stamford For some time, the town has been entirely out of coal and there is no better prospect for getting it today than there was a week ago. From Monday’s Daily Mrs. J.E. Robertson, mother of Dr. Robertson, died today at 12 o’clock. The interment will be at Waco. From Wednesday’s Daily Monroe Howard was arraigned before the Justice for abusive language and fined $25 and cost. Jack Sammons arrived from Noble, Okla. due to the illness of Mrs. C.E. Sammons. Rev. Wm. Piercy, pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian church in Stamford has moved to the town and is located in the parsonage a new house built on the Dr. Bunkley addition. E.B. Atterbery, Jr. sold the Haskell Herald last week to Durham and Sheppard. Mr. Durham established the Munday Times and recently sold it. Mr. Sheppard has been the pastor of the Christian Church in Haskell.
