J.A. McKinney a farmer living near Brandon, Texas was killed on the 19th and the justice of the peace held the inquest and the verdict was that he was killed by his wife. He was shot in the breast. His wife claims that it was done in self-defense. Born to Mr. and Mrs. J.F. P’Pool a fine 11 pound boy, Saturday morning. From Wednesday’s Daily J.B. Williams of Norman, Okla. is here visiting his sister, Mrs. N. Link. Dr. J.A. Ward of Avoca will spend next Sunday in Stamford and will occupy the Presbyterian pulpit. Stamford Collegiate institute Mr. P. Moodie of Houston has taken the work at $50,000, which does not include the plumbing and heating for the new college building. Mr. Moodie will begin work at the opening of the new year. The building will be ready for the opening of school at the first of September. I have sold my interest in the Sammons & Pattillo Furniture Business to W.E. Whittington and E.A. Means. Its Donahoo’s transportation. Wednesday at 1 o’clock p.m. at the Baptist church in Anson. Dr. Kenneth A. King of Abilene went to the hymen altar Miss Annie Hale, Rev. J.H. Edmonds performing the ceremony. Dr. King is a prominent dentist of Abilene and a brother of Harry Tom King. Miss Hale is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Hale, one of Anson’s most prominent families. Dr. and Mrs. King will live in Abilene - Western Reporter W..R. Claypool and Miss Francis Mae Fannin were married Christmas evening at 7:30, at the residence of Mr. C.E. Sammons. Rev. R.B. Evans officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Claypool will soon leave for Bethany, Mo. and will make their home at that place. From Saturday’s Daily Miss Olivia Biggs, a milliner in a dry good store firm at Blanket, is in Anson to spend the holidays with her parents, Rev. and Mrs. J.A. Biggs. Yesterday in the afternoon we took a little drive to to the College Park addition and to the Park Lake. Mr. J.T. Halsel has built an elegant residence near the lake. Dirt was broken for the Wallace building on the corner of Swenson avenue and Moran street. The building will be of brick 120 feet deep and 50 feet front and two stories high.
