Peters died after an illness lasting about 18 months. Mr. Peters was not confined to his room all the time he was in Stamford some weeks ago, but has been in feeble health for a long time. He was an old citizen of Jones county. The burial will be tomorrow evening in the cemetery at Fairview. Sneak Thieves in town Attempt to Pilfer the Residence of J.E. Raines Last evening about 7 o’clock while the family were at supper someone entered the residence of Mr. J.E. Raines, evidently for the purpose of stealing. Miss Estelle Matthews, a young lady staying with the Raines frightened the intruder away. For Sale. A 9 room boarding house on Moran St., one block north of the Square. Good cistern and out houses. --J.T. Smart Hamlin Notes Mr. Chas. Young and Miss Bessie DeLoach of Neinda came up and Rev. S.C. Vaughn united them in marriage. From Wednesday’s Daily Born to Mr. and Mrs. Morris Manning a fine boy last Wednesday at their home in Rule, Texas. Mr. A.J. Swenson left on the train this morning with the following gentlemen for Lueders to show them the country: John Snyggs, Frank Anderson, C.A. Johnson, Alex’d Peterson, Harman Anderson, C.E. Anderson, C.W. Peterson, P.J. Peterson, Claud Johnson, John Johnson, Chas. Anderson, and Frank Johnson. These gentlemen are from Hutto and will locate in this country. From Saturday’s Daily The Central Depot is being painted. Mr. M.L. Bird and Miss Mamie Wilson were married at the home of the bride’s parents at Corsicana, Wednesday, Nov. 28th, 3:30 p.m. Mr. Bird is a member of the firm of B.E. Sparks & Son. They will reside in Stamford. From Monday’s Daily The infant of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Turner died. J.A. Johnson, wife and children of Antler, I.T. will make Avoca their home.
