Ward was unanimously elected Pastor Emeritus. This is in keeping with a practice among Presbyterians especially on the part of congregations where ministers have spent their last years in the active ministry and are held in such esteem as Dr. Ward is here. Though this is an honor to our retiring from active service rather than a duty thrust upon him, yet it is hoped the doctor can make it convenient also to be with and preach for the congregation occasionally.
