Evans Editor and Proprietor F.E. White, Foreman (note change of owners and editor) The Stamford Publishing Co. Changes Hands On May 6th, we took charge of the Stamford Publishing Co. having bought same from Rev. S. Gay, who founded it nearly seven years ago, when the railroad had just reaches this place and Stamford was indeed in her swaddling clothes. We are just proud of the record that the News has made. Its name has been the synonym of honor and its every obligation, worth a hundred cents on the dollar. It has had the interest of Stamford ever before it and has been fearless in speaking out on every moral question. No one who knows S. Gay dares to call in question, his character as a Christian gentleman or his true worth as a citizen and the work he has done here for good is permanent. The Tribune, under the able management of Mr. J.A. Greer, has long since passed the experimental stage and demonstrated the fact that it is not only a business success but a great force for good Our next aim shall be for Stamford and where ever the News shall go, those who read it, shall know of our beautiful, healthful and growing city; of her schools, magnificent homes, and her many opportunities for both home seekers and investors. --A.N.
