Funeral at Spring Creek Cemetery, Thursday evening, 3:30 p.m. He had only been sick since Saturday so his death will come as a shock. We have moved our stock of staple and fancy groceries from the south side of the square to the building formerly occupied by the R.B. Hilton Music Co. on the northside square. -- City Grocery Co. Green was accidentally shot and killed about 12:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the home of B.P. Cain, by a bullet from a 45-caliber Colt revolver. Mr. Green and two companions were engaged in examining various articles in an old trunk, and when they came upon the old revolver, it was handed to Oliver Richardson, when it was accidentally discharged. The ball hit Mr. Green causing death about two hours later. Mr. Green was a brother of Mrs. E.F. Cain, and was in business with Mr. Cain in this city. He came to Hamlin several months ago from Johnson City, and the remains, after being embalmed, were sent to that place for burial Monday afternoon. The Hamlin Lodge of Woodmen of the World met at 2:30 Monday afternoon and conducted the funeral services from the home to the Texas Central Depot. H.M. Milam as the representative of the local Woodmen accompanied the remains to Johnson City, where they were interred. - Hamlin Herald. Dell Hatch of Lorena plans to locate in Hamlin and engage in cotton buying. Mr. J.F. Lewis of Sulphur Springs has accepted a position with the Smith-Bizzell Dry Goods Co. J.D. Kincannon has accepted a position as carrier on a rural route leading out of Stamford. Avoca Dots The Avoca State Bank and Culwell Co. will soon have their bricks completed. W.D. Knight has sold his hotel building to Prof. Blackmon.
