Married at the home of the bride’s parents in this city. Sunday afternoon at 7:30. Mr. Walter B. Abbott and Miss Lottie Briant. Only a few of the close friends and relatives were present and Rev. C.H. Ledger performed the ceremony. Mr. Abbott is connected with the business firm of R.B. Spencer & Co. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Abbott. The bride is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Briant of Hamlin. -- Hamlin Bulletin Mr. Bill winter and Miss Willie Barbee, of Noodle, were married at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Coggin of Merkel. Rev. A.A. Baker performing the marriage ceremony. The groom is the son of Terrell Winter of Noodle. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Barbee of Noodle. -- Merkel Mail Local and Personal Mr. Whittington’s new residence in east Stamford is nearing completion. Born: To Tom Jenkins and wife on July 15, an 11 pound boy. Mrs. Anna Belle Pooley of Hattisburg, Miss. is a guest of her brothers Messrs. Hunter and Will Goodwin. Grandma Freeland, mother of Mrs. S.L. Baggett, died yesterday afternoon about 4:00 o’clock at the home of her daughter. The old lady was 62 years of age and had been suffering for some months from a catarrh of the stomach. - Hamlin bulletin Married: At the residence of the bride, Miss Hattie Wilfong and Mr. H.C. Bouldin by Rev. M.M. Beavers. Mr. Bouldin is in the employ of the Spencer Lumber Co. - Haskell Herald A child of Mr. McPhearson who lives in Young Co., was killed by lightning one night last week. Personal and Local Mr. Hall is building a beautiful home on East Oliver St. Mrs. Mossman of Lorena is visiting her daughter, Mrs. E.H. Clark. A.D. Woodson went to Tuxedo where he will put in a new gin. Sam Lanter of Aspermont came in to visit his mother, Mrs. J.C. Haskew and sisters, Mrs. H.F. Elrod and Mrs. J.F. Tomlinson. Rev. Jerome Duncan, President of the Stamford collegiate Institute, the new Methodist college, says that the main building cost $60,000 and would be ready for September. Crabb Teacher of Piano and Violin Graduate of Crabb’s Conservatory and Practical School of Music, Cleburne, Texas Hawley & McKinney Drug Store The whole town of Olney is to be moved bodily from its present site, two miles to the line of the new Wichita Falls & Southern Railway. Olney is a flourishing town in Young county. Today the owners of the railroad provided every man now owns a lot in Olney is given a like amount of land, in the new town. this was agreeable all around and the town is to be picked up bodily and moved two miles across the prairie. Smith-Bizzell Dry Goods Store Will Ward of Waco spent the day with his brother Harry Ward. A child of Mr. Vaden, who was killed sometime ago near here was buried in Stamford Cemetery, Monday.
