Wagley Bros. The Racket Boys J.P. Willeford of Blooming Grove, has moved to Stamford to become one of us, and has accepted a position as manager of the grocery department for R.M. Dickenson. Local and Personal G.M. Hill is connected with the News. Mr. Hill was with the News some years ago. W.M. Morrow, a former Stamford boy is engaged in the drug business at Jayton. He is secretary of the Commercial Club at that place. J.J. Hearty from Mart, is here looking for a location. Dr. G.B. Blackburn of Gaston, Georgia was in town. D.A. Tabb from Oakwood is here. Wade Dent of Atlanta, Ga., is in town. Joe Ward and family came to town from Fort Griffin. Mr. Roberson and family came from Big Springs. Mr. Roberson will be cashier of the State Bank which is to be located in the building now occupied by the Cooper Drug Co. Rev. R.B. Evans has resigned his position as Financial Agent of the Collegiate Institute. Bad health and work necessary for the approaching Church Conference were the causes of the resignation. W.A. Lewis of the Fairview neighborhood was in to see us. Mr. Lewis has been out with the S. & N.W. surveying corps. He stated that they have surveyed as far as Arina. Mr. Lewis has resigned his position with the corps and will teach school at Sagerton. At the home of the bride in Corsicana, Wednesday evening at 4:30, Mr. Samuel Egger of this city and Miss Jeanette Levi were united in marriage. After spending several days in Dallas, they will be at home at the Stamford Inn. Mr. Egger has charge of the business of D. Egger & Son at this place and Haskell. The bride is one of the most popular young ladies of Corsicana, where she has resided for some time. At the Baptist parsonage, Tuesday evening at 8:30 Mr. Charley Penick and Miss Mamie Sledge were united in marriage. Rev. F.S. Groner performed the ceremony. Mr. Penick is with the Penick-Hughes Hardware Co. The bride is the daughter of J.B. Sledge. Advertised Letters, Oct. 20, 1907 James Andrews, C.E. Allen, Willie Alvoed, J.D. Fairview Dots Mr. Dilar Jones and Miss Jessie Funderburk met the preacher here and Stamford last Sunday evening and were married. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tubs have returned to this country to make their home. Frank Benham and son, Clyde left yesterday for Dallas to attend the fair. Joe Johnson and family will take a trip north. Tuxedo has a two-story hotel with 17 rooms going up now. There will also be a furniture store put up there soon. Otis Stamford visited Stamford Saturday night. T. Treadwell bought him a new buggy last week. Sagerton Items Mr. O.C. Brown, of Hamlin is helping the painter out. Miss Agnes Haden returned from Fort Worth. Mrs. Haden, sister of Uncle Whittington, came in with her daughter and expects to make Sagerton her home. Dr. Cherry of Haskell bought the Craddock residence and moved the same. We welcome him.
