Hanna are visiting the flower show at Waco. Dr. Goggins from Alabama is here to attend to his son who is sick. Ramsey Cox, general superintendent of M.K.& T. was here Tuesday. Mr. Cox announces the appointment of Elbert Blair of Dublin to the position of Traveling Freight and Passenger Agent. Mr. Blair was until recently the agent at Dublin. Swenson Bros. shipped 2,000 cattle in the past few days from their ranch near Stamford and in Dickens county, to the corn belt and to the northern markets. Drs. Rush & Rush of DeLeon have closed a deal with the Stamford Townsite Company for five acres of land in the college addition and will erect a sanitarium to cost about $20,000. The say the work will begin just as soon as the plans are finished. Dr. R.H. Rush and his son, Dr. H.P. Rush, are both prominent physicians and surgeons of DeLeon. The suspension of college and the extremely cold weather, for the last two days were greatly enjoyed. It’s a fad now the girls to study the backs of their watches. The following young ladies spent Sunday at their respective homes: Misses Georgia and Winnie Thornton, Gertrude Ketron, Myrtle Hisey and Effie Vardiman. this is a preliminary to a question in the Junior English class: “Begging your pardon, Miss Clara.” Miss Jewett Green will give lessons in jiggling. On last Friday, the Junior Class, organized with the following officers: Roy Dodson, Pres.,; Minnie Elliott, Vice-Pres.; Roy Niel, Sect.; Clarance Cameron, Treas.; Ollie Duncan, Historian and E.H. Coburn, Poet. Katheryne Duncan, the Presidents’ little daughter, was chosen as their Mascot. Miss Caroline Duncan.
