Howard of Garner and Miss Minta Morgan of this city were united in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.N. Morgan of this place. Jack Stapleton, a prominent citizen of Greenville, Texas has returned to Stamford to make his home. The Western Union Telegraph company will cut into the city office, the wires on the Wichita Valley as well as the wires on the Texas Central. -- J.C. Smith, Superintendent. W.G. Thomas has sold the Western Reporter to John P. Cooper of Waxahachie. Last week’s issue of the Jones County Talk was a 16-page special edition by its editor, Frank E. White. Cooper Drug Co. is moving to the building recently occupied by J.E. Sadler & Son, on the square. Abbie Rev. L.D. Funderburt and family will leave Abbie in a few days for Portales, New Mexico, where they will make their future home. Mrs. Lydia Evans is prepared to move to her father’s home. Vears Proctor, formerly of Peoria, Hill County, was quietly married to Miss Jessie, daughter of J.C. Barnard, at Tuxedo at 7 p.m. Dec. 24. Rev. Ledger officiating. Miss Jessie came from Bynum, Hill county, with her father about one year ago. Mr. Barnard is manager of the Swenson gin at Tuxedo. At 7:30 p.m. Dec. 25, Willie R., son of P.S. Wilkenson, led to the matrimonial after Miss Wardie McClaran at her home near Abbie. Miss Wardie is the third daughter of J.D. McClaran who is well known in Jones county. Mr. Wilkenson having already made arrangements to build and live on his father’s place. G.L. Cast, son of Mrs. J.M. Gast, was married to Miss Annie, the oldest daughter of P.S. Wilkerson at her father’s home near Abbie, Dec. 24, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Chas. L. Gast came from McLennan county, with his parents about 5 years ago, and settled near Hamlin, where his mother still lives. About the same time Mr. P.S. Wilkerson moved from Campbell, Hunt County, and settled near Abbie. With five years acquaintance they have decided to launch their life boats together. After an illness of over two months from stomach troubles, Mrs. T.S. Wallace passed away last Friday evening at about 5:30 o’clock. The remains were shipped Saturday morning to Waco, her former home, for interment, accompanied by her husband and son, Rob, and also Mrs. Harry Butler. - Western Reporter. T.F. Cameron left for Stonewall county to make his future home. Fairview Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Link will leave for Knox County to make their home. J.E. Sadler & Son will moved their stock of groceries to the building formerly occupied by the Stamford Tribune. South Side square. Mrs. J.W. McCarty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Cooper of this city, died at her home at Texico, Dec. 26th, and was buried here Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.E. Goodrich, pastor of the Methodist church. The deceased lived here until her marriage about two years ago to Mr. J.W. McCarty of Texico. Debating Society Program, Jan. 3, 1908 for the Boy’s High School. Flake Turner, George Simpson, J.C.
