Clark, 60, of Avoca, died Monday in Stamford after several years of failing health. Funeral took place in the Avoca Baptist church with the Rev. W.K. Horn, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Joel V. Grimes, Baptist minister conducting. No date has bee set for the service but burial will be in the Funston cemetery under the direction of Kinney funeral home. Mrs. Clark was the former Martha Alice Pope, born 26 June 1883 in Texas. She was married 8 October 1905 at Lipan. Survived by her husband, and two sons: Florice of El Paso and S-Sgt. Dave Clark with the AAF in Alabama; 2 daughters: Mrs. Arlie Smith of Stamford, Mrs. Jimmy Wills of Sagerton; 3 brothers: Dave and Charlie Pope of Lipan and Willie of Cresson. Clark, 60, who died Monday will be held in the Avoca Baptist church Thursday with the Rev. W.K. Horn, assisted by Rev. Joel V. Grimes officiating. Burial in the Funston cemetery under the direction of Kinney Funeral Home. Mr. Clark who has been suffering with pneumonia in the Stamford Hospital, is reported to be improving.
