All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** The Abilene Reporter News Abilene, Taylor County, Texas Thursday, January 6, 1944 Vassar Rites Today in Anson Church Funeral services for Albert Vassar, 44, manager of an Anson laundry for several years will be held at the First Baptist church of Anson Thursday. Rev. J.T. McBeth, pastor of the church will officiate. Mr. Vassar died in Abilene yesterday. A native of Texas, he was born in Cherokee County, 6 October 1899. Followoing the death of his parents, he came to Jones County with a brother in 1919. He was married to Mary Ethel Mayfield after moving to Jones county. Survived: wife; six children - James, serving in the Navy; Alvin, Wanna, Monette, Sylvia, Lois, Rita Jo and Albert, all of Anson; 2 brother - Lee of Anson, Willie of Athens, 2 sisters: Mrs. D.T. McKinzey of Houston, Mrs. MIrtle Otis of Alto, TX. Burial in the Mount Hope cemetery under the direction of Lawrence Funeral Home of Anson
