Dominga "Cindy" Cantu

Dominga ÒCindyÓ Cantu, 45, of Stamford passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006. Cindy was 
born on September 21, 1960 in Abilene to Arona Guerrero Gusman and the late 
Julian B. Gusman. A rosary was held on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Kinney-Underwood 
Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at St. 
AnnÕs Catholic Church with Rev. George Roney officiating. Arrangements were under 
the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. 

Cindy married Longino ÒJr.Ó Cantu on March 8, 1980 in Stamford. She was a member of 
St. AnnÕs Catholic Church.

Surviving Mrs. Cantu are husband, Jr. Cantu of Stamford; one daughter and 
son-in-law, Jessica and Justin Stokes of Abilene; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason 
Cantu and Stephanie Clayton of Abilene; mother, Arona Gusman of Stamford; mother-in-
law, Maria C. Cantu; seven sisters, Alice Senac of San Antonio, Mary Elena Martinez 
and husband Lalo of Dallas, Gloria Guerrero and husband Amador of Abilene, Susan 
Carreno and husband Victor of Abilene, Bertha Rangel and husband Louis of Stamford, 
MaryLou Bacon of Houston, and Geneva Velasco and husband Roland of Abilene; four 
brothers, Victor Gutierrez of Del Rio, Richard Zapata and wife Marlee of Abilene, 
Julian Gusman, Jr. and Linda of Stamford, and Jody Lopez and wife Lisa of Abilene; 
one granddaughter, Jazlynn Cantu; five sister-in-laws, Nancy and husband Craig 
Alysworth of Canton, Michigan, Erma and husband Johnny Saldana of Abilene, Nina and 
husband Edward McClintock, Lesvia Deanda and Sylvia Mendez of Stamford; and Billy 
and wife Mary Cantu of Abilene, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and 
cousins, along with a host of very, very close special friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julian B. Gusman, Sr. and father-in-law, 
Longino G. Cantu, Sr.

Pallbearers were: J.J. Gusman, Ben Munoz, Ronald D. Baker, Sr., Cary McClintock, 
Alex Cantu, Tommy Jimenez, Larry Moreno.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Michael Gusman and Cory Wedeking.
