Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at St. JohnÕs United Methodist Church with Rev. John Erwin officiating. Burial followed in Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. Bryan was born August 26, 1975 in Haskell, Texas, the son of James Michael and Rhonda Kay Harris Powell. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1993, and received an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology from DeVry Institute of Dallas in 1996. Bryan loved to play the guitar, expressing himself with art, tinkering on his car and his motorcycle. Bryan was always eager to go and help and friend. Bryan loved the simple things in life. He was a member of St. JohnÕs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, H.J. Powell. Surviving Bryan are his parents, Mike and Rhonda Powell of Stamford; a sister, Layla Powell of Granbury; paternal grandmother, Billie Powell of Stamford; maternal grandparents, Jim and Ona Mae Harris of Colorado City; two uncles, Sam and Fodie Powell of Abilene, Jimmy and Ellen Harris of Spring; three aunts, Sarah Butts of Grand Prairie, Deniese and T.C. Love of Colorado City, Jamie and Jeff Jacobs of San Antonio; numerous cousins; and a very special friend, Kim Willingham of Abilene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to St. JohnÕs UnitedMethodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1155, Stamford, Texas 79553 Serving Bryan as pallbearers were Kevin Pritchard, Jeff Robertson, Joe McMeans,Danny Duggan, Steve Lefevre and Max Olson.
