Tommy Joe Williams, 61, of Stamford formerly of Abilene passed 
away Sunday, July 9, 2006. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., 
Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Kinney-Underwood Funeral Chapel with 
Josh Pangburn and Wes Horn officiating. Burial followed in Spring Creek 
Cemetery under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. 

Tommy was born on November 24, 1944 in Stamford to the late Claude and 
Clara Davis Williams. He married Mamie Mann on September 3, 1970 in 
Abilene. She died July 7, 2000. He served in the United States Navy 
from 1961 to 1964. He was a member of Mission Church of Christ in Abilene.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one brother, Troy Williams; 
and one granddaughter, Jennifer Swepston.

Surviving Mr. Williams are four daughters, Tiletha Simmons, 
Christon Peables, Kammy Hendricks, and Jolene McKean; one son, John Swepston; 
13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lila Stewart, and 
Marybelle Smith; and two brothers, James Williams, and W.R. Williams.
