Bunkley, 77, citizen of this section since 1915, died at Stamford Saturday, 20 March 1937. Funeral held at the home of his son, Dr. E.P. Bunkley, at 1024 East Reynolds Street. Rev. P.C. Williams, pastor of the Memorial Baptist Church, conducted the service and burial was in Highland cemetery. Six of his grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Earl Bunkley, Burl Bunkley, C.E. Bunkley, Jr., V.F. Bunkley, Jr., Miller Bunkley, Neal Bunkley. Mr. Bunkley was born in Greenville, Alabama, 6 December 1859, and moved to Farmersville, Texas, when he was 11 years of age. He was married at Farmersville, 22 July 1880 to Miss Mary Eliza Henslee and they had been married more than 55 years when she died in November, 1935. The family lived in Farmersville for many years, Mr. and Mrs. Bunkley moving to the Stamford area in 1915. Mr. Bunkley has been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Tom Elliott, since the death of his wife. Survivors: 5 sons - W.E. Bunkley, Dr. E.P. Bunkley, C.E. Bunkley, B.H. Bunkley, V.F. Bunkley; 1 daughter - Mrs. Tom Elliott; 22 grand; 3 great; brother - Dr. John Bunkley of Seymour; 2 sisters - Mrs. O. Randolph of Dallas, Mrs. J.T. Glass of McLean.
