Clyburn, pioneer settler of Hawley and Jones county, died at his home in Hawley last Tuesday, September 19th. Mr. Clyburn was 74 years of age. For many years he operated a mercantile business in Hawley. Funeral services were held at the cemetery under the direction of Lawrence F.H. of Anson. The Rev. J.B. Bradford, pastor of the Hawley Baptist church officiated. Mr. Clyburn was a native of South Carolina where he was born August 12th, 1865. He had been a resident of Jones county 32 years at the time of his death. He married Mary Earl Camp who, along with eight children, 21 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild survive him. Children are: W.C., and L.E. Clyburn of Hawley; Curtis Clyburn of Campbellton; S.L. Clyburn of Franklin, LA; Raymond Clyburn of Abilene; Mrs. J.S. Russell of Three Rivers, A.L. Clyburn of Knott, TX.
