Funeral services were Monday, May 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Chapel in Hamlin. Burial was in the McCaulley Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home. Born March 25, 1906, in Durant, Oklahoma, Nell was the daughter of the late John Marshall and Elizabeth (Harris) Abbott. Her family moved to McCaulley when Nell was nine years old. She attended school in McCaulley, and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1924. She married Willie B. (Bill) Fancher January 14, 1933. They farmed near Roby and Plains and moved to Hamlin in 1955. Her husband preceded her in death in October 8, 1996. Nell was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include nephews, Ted M. Masser (and wife, Katherine) of Fredericksburg, and Michael P. Masser (and wife, Julie) of Caldwell; brother-in-law, Huie Parker of Hamlin; and several great-nieces and nephews.
