Dunwoody received word Tuesday morning of the death of Mrs. DunwoodyÕs father, Hugh W. Hardy of Abilene. He was a building contractor and had been engaged in this line of work since 1914, his first contract being a Jones county job, the building of the Warren school house in southwest Jones county. Mr. Hardy was born in Walker county, near Huntsville, May 4th, 1874. He was 65 years old at his death. In 1908 Mr. Hardy moved his family to the Hodges community in Jones county where he operated a gin. In 1914 he moved to Abilene where the family has since lived. Survived: wife, Mrs. Josephine Hardy, 5 children: E.H. Hardy of Merkel; Roff Hardy of Abilene; Mrs. R.L. Dunwoody of Anson; Mrs. James Walker of Abilene; Miss Sarah Hardy of Abilene; 2 brothers: R.L. and Felix Hardy of New Waverly, Texas; 2 sisters: Mrs. Charlie Neiderhoffer of New Waverly; Mrs. Joe Knight of San Antonio; 3 grandchildren. Funeral held from the family residence, 418 Meander St., Abilene, with Dr. M.A. Jenkins, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Abilene. Pallbearers: Jack Cannon of Merkel; Waldo Moutray, E.W.
