All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Mose Jones Mose Jones, Former Trail Driver Goes to "Last Round-Up" Mose Jones, 92,, pioneer of Jones and Shackelford counties, died at his home in Anson, Tuesday morning after being in ill health for three years. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at the Anson Methodist Church and buried was in Fairview cemetery [Tuxedo]. Mr. Jones was well known over West Texas. He was an early day trail driver and had encounters with the Indians during his youth. He and his wife moved to Jones county in 1901. Last year they celebrtated their 60th wedding anniversary. Survivors: [microfilmed scratched] R.D. of Anderson Chapel, Sam H. of Post; John "Wash" of Anson, O.P. of Palestine, and Tom of Anson; 2 daughters: Mrs. T.J. Stubbs and Mrs. May Herndon of Anson.
