All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Wilson Keyes Wilson Keyes, 35, Midland oil operator and Walter Glenn, 61, Hollywood western movie actor, formerly of Midland, were killed in a head-on crash of two automobiles a quarter of a mile west of Midland Saturday, according to information received in Stamford. Mr. Keyes was the husband of the former Miss Evelyn Warwick of Stamford. Funeral service was held for Mr. Keyes on Monday at Midland. Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Warwick, parents of Mrs. Keyes, Judge and Mrs. E.V. Hardwick, Bill Warwick and Mrs. D.A. Bandeen of Stamford and Mr. and Mrs. Luke Skaggs and Freda Perkins went to Midland for the funeral. Mr. Keyes was born at Morton, Missouri, April 8, 1901. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Keyes of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Survived: wife, parents, brother - Marshall Keyes of Colorado Springs. He was educated in the public schools in Missouri and in the Rolla School of Mines, studying geology. He went to Midland in 1923 and worked as a geologist and has recently been an independent operator, bringing in an oil well which opened a new pool in Winkler county. He was a active member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the various West Texas Oil Organizations. He and Miss Evelyn Warwick married in 1934.
