Norman, 81, pioneer citizen of Jones county, were held from the Church of Christ at Anson, Wednesday, September 20, 1939. Mr. Norman passed away at his farm home just east of Anson. Elder W.L. Barrett of Arlington and the Rev. R.V. Sorrells of Abilene were in charge of the church service. Lawrence F.H. had charge of burial arrangements. Grandson was pallbearers. Mr. Norman was born on November 29, 1858, in Alabama. He was married to Willie Still May 19, 1881 in Alabama. He had lived in Texas since 1879 and came to Jones county from Bell county. He had been a member of the Primitive baptist church for many years. Mr. NormanŐs first wife died in 1922, and in 1929 he was married to Mrs. Annie Blakely, who survives him. Other survivors: 10 children: Mrs. Lena Valliant of Anson; Mrs. Lola Hall of Killeen; Mrs. Lula Anderson of Seagraves, Mrs. Betty Hendrick of Anson, D.Y. Norman of Hamlin, Mrs. Gertie Brown of Pittsburg, CO; Mrs. Allie Gilbreath of Dallas; Mrs. Bud Herndon of Anson; Mrs. Al Bliss of San Antonio; 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
