Funeral at the Bartlett Methodist church. Mr. Rowntree came to Texas in 1880 and married Miss Dora [paper torn] daughter of [paper torn] March 11, 1896. Survived: wife of Austin; daughter - Mrs. P.D. Moreland of Austin; 3 sons - Earl of Abilene, Ralph of Austin, Winton of Pampa; 2 sisters - Mrs. W.R. Owen of Rowletta, Ky., Mrs. Bob Miller of Horse Cave, Ky., 3 brothers - Tee Rowntree of Bailey, John Rowntree of Cave City, Ky., Robert Rowntree of Bartlett; 1 granddaughter - Miss Sara Beth Moreland of Abilene, 3 grandsons - Pat and Ralph Moreland of Austin, Dudley Rowntree of Abilene. Mr. Rowntree was a retired merchant. He was a Methodist and for years was a trustee and steward of the Bartlett Methodist chruch. He had built the first brick business houses in Bartlett. In 1908 Mr. Rowntree and family moved to Stamford to make their home. They lived in Stamford for many years, moving to Abilene in 1929.
