Turner of Avoca, who died Friday, 3 September 1937 at the Tyler, Texas. The body was brought to Stamford by train. Rev. Joel V. Grimes and rev. F.O. Garner conducted the service. Interment was in the Spring Creek cemetery. Mr. Turner was born 2 April 1902, in Hillsboro, son of the late Rev. O.B. Turner, Methodist minister, and Mrs. Turner. His childhood and youth were spent in various Central Texas towns where his father was serving as pastor. His father died in 1918 and the widowed mother moved the family to Jones county and located near Avoca. Mr. Turner was married to Miss Nettie Martin of Wichita Falls in 1931. He had been a member of the Methodist church since 1910. Survivors: wife, his mother; 2 small children - Lavena and O.B.; brother - Coy Turner of Avoca; 2 sisters - Mrs. Alvin Sylvester of Avoca, Mrs. Alvin Mauldin of Novice. Out-of-town relatives - M/M J.D. Riley of Tyler, M/M M.T. Frank and son, Gilbert, Mrs. C.N. Drake and daughter, Zana Jo and son, Turne and A.M. Turner, all of Hillsboro. Mrs. C.O. Brooks and daughters, Frances Bonnie Ruth and Georgia of Albany; M/M Boyd Robinson and daughters, Billy June and Betty Lou of Breckenridge. Mrs. W.C. Henry and daughters, Gladys and Maxine, and M/M Ellia Henry, all of Ralls; Mrs. Eva Grinstead, M/M Tom Hitt and children, Carl and Tommy Grace, Ira and Neal Grinstead, all of Rochester; M/m Edward Frank and sons, Billy and Bob, M/M C.P. Amerson and daughter, Mrs. Morgan; John C. Turner, all of Hamlin. Mrs. Guy White and Mrs. Hubert Westfall of Stamford, and Mrs. Pearl Zimmerman and daughters, Lavona and Dorothy, and son, Leo, and M/M Banks Seahorn, all of Wichita Falls.
