Wallace, pioneer Stamford business man died of a heart ailment Tuesday, 1 September 1936 on East McHarg avenue. Funeral held at the family home with Rev. P.C. Williams, pastor of the Memorial Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Mrs. Wallace was formerly Miss Maggie Elizabeth McLean and was born in Rockdale county, Georgia, 25 September 1856. She was married there 25 April 1883,a nd one of her sons was born in the family homestead where she had been born. The family came to Stamford March 1901, where the late Mr. Wallace established the Stamford Laundry, which is still being maintained by a son, C.E. Wallace. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Presbyterian church as a girl and joined the Baptist church after her marriage. Mr. Wallace died at Stamford in 1925. Survivors: three sons - Dave of Waco, John of Dallas, and C.E. of Stamford; daughter - Miss Maggie Lee Wallace of Wichita Falls; sister - Mrs. Alice Brown of North Carolina, 8 grand.
