The map and list was published in Our Heritage Vol. 33, Number 2, April 1992. The graves are listed by numbers on her map/drawing. 1. GEORGE NIXON LYNCH (1888-1958), married Addie May Butler #24 2. HAROLD EUGENE STURCKEN (1894-1923), married Bess Butler, (daughter of #11), mother of Betty Gay and Ed Sturcken, and Roy Erickson #21. Died in a plane crash. 3. W. G. BUTLER, JR. (1876-1913). "Hemis" -killed in automobile accident. Married to Ida Bright (buried in nearby cemetery under name of Lee.) 4. CORA ANN BUTLER, (1870-1947) - unmarried daughter of #5 & #6. Inherited the Mansion, left it to Edna Burris Scruggs who gave it to her son, Harold Scruggs. 5. WILLIAM G. BUTLER (1834-1912). "Col Bill" - Conferedate Soldier - trail driver. 6. ADELINE BUTLER (1838-1908). Adeline Burris, wife of #5. On of the numerous Butler-Burris marriages. 7.EMMETT W. BUTLER (1864-1884) Killed in a Helena shoot-out. This is the man about whom Col. Bill said: "I'll kill the town that killed my son." Son of #5 & 6. 8. NEWTON G. BUTLER (1858-1895) Died in New Orleans. Was married to Mary Elder. Son of #5 & #6. Most of his family is buried in Floresville. 9. WILLIAM JOHN KENNEDY (1914-1957). Second husband of Betty Gay Sturcken (father #2). Died in Guatemala. Two children: Karen & Bryan. 10. EMMA J. BUTLER (1869-1957). "Aunt Em". Emma Jane Seale from Mississippi. Married to Sykes #11 in 1891. Her sister was "Mat" #13 11. SYKES C. BUTLER (1867-1946). Son of #5 & #6. Husband of #10. There children are buried here are: #16, #17, #23, and #24. Still living are Bess and Nell. 12. T. G. BUTLER (1871-1948). "Thea". Son of #5 & #6. Married to #13. 13. MATTIE SEALE BUTLER (1874-1944). MARTHA LOU SEAL, wife of #12. Their children buried are: #14, #15, and #25. Marvin is buried in Karnes City. (Karnes City, Karnes County, Texas). 14. NORINE BUTLER MC CRADY (1900-1930). "Rene", daughter of #12 & #13. Married to Roy McCrady of St. Louis. Died while visiting her parents here. Three Children: Roy Butler, Barbara Jean, and Donald T. One child died young, Jerry Lee, buried in St. Louis. 15. LUCILE BUTLER HUMMEL (1897-1964), daughter of #12 #13. Married to Charles B. Hummel, (buried in San Antonio). Two children: Milton Schmitt and A. T. Goff. 16. EVA BUTLER HOUSTON (1898-1964). "Fotchie", daughter of #10 & #11. Married to Joe Tom Houston (buried in Floresville?). Children: Joe Tom, Bill, Sam, and Jan. 17. WILLIAM BRYAN BUTLER (1896-1969). "Buddy", only son of #10 & #12. Married to Alice Butler.One daughter, Lasca. 18. SUSAN JOHNSON (1828-1870). Oldest child of #19 & #20. Came to Texas with parents and her only child, Jane. Died one day after her father died of a "broken heart". Originally buried at the River Cemetery (Escondido Cemetery). Grave moved in 1965. 19. SARAH ANN BUTLER (1811-1900).* Sarah Ann Ricks, a red head, married to Burnell #20. They had 14 children. Was buried in Escondido Cemetery. Grave moved in 1965. 20. BURNELL BUTLER (1806-1870)* Was a deaf mute - came to Texas from Mississippi. His wife is #19, his oldest child #18, sons #5 & 28. He died falling off a cliff. The son of John Butler and Mary Ann Jones. 21. HOWARD ELROY ERICKSON (1929-1969). Youngest son of Bess Butler. Married to Betty Benz. Five children. 22. GARLAND E. GRADY (1893-1971). "Grady" married to Myrtle Butler #23. 23. MYRTLE GRADY (1893-1971). "Dude", daugher of #10 & #11. Two daughters: Mary Nell and Martha Ann. 24. ADDIE MAY LYNCH(1891-1978). Oldest child of #10 & #11. Named for her grandmother Adeline. Married to Nic Lynch. No Children. 25. T. G. BUTLER, JR. (1907-1972). "Man" youngest child of #12 & #13. Married to Bess Gary. No children. 26. GERALD BUTLER (died in 1979, at age 50). "Jerry " son of Vernor Butler, grandson of #8. One daughter, Bianca. 27. MARION BUTLER (1866-1866). Ten day old son of #5 & #6. Bured at "Broke Tan" - grave moved here. 28. J. W. BUTLER, (1830-1853). "Woodward" oldest son of Burnell Butler. Died of yellow fever en route from Indianola. Buried on Yates Creek. Grave moved here. 29. WILLIAM BRIAN KENNEDY (1947-1979). Son of William John Kennedy and Betty Gay Kennedy. 30. MARY NELL GRADY LIVINGSTON. Daughter of Garland and Dude Grady, #22 & #23. Two Children: Linda and Jimmie 31. ALBERT BAKER (1906-1982). Husband of Nell Butler. 32. JANE HUMMEL(1922-1984). Wife of Charles W. Hummel. 33. ALICE RUTLEDGE BUTLER (1899-1987). Wife of #17. 34. JOSEPH HUGENBURG III. "Trey", great-grandson of #35. 35. BESSIE BUTLER HARBECK (1900-1990). Daughter of #10 . 36. CHARLES WAGNER HUMMELL (1919-1991). Son of #15.
