Today I contacted Air Force Casualty Branch, TSgt Gullion, 1-800-433-0048, Randolph AFB Tx.  He gave me the Marine Corps point of contact, Marine Fld Unit Command, Washington, D. C.., Phone 1-800-847-1597,and I spoke with Mr. Russell.

 

I gave Sgt Gullian and Mr. Russell the inscription as appeared on Fabian's plague.

I wanted to break down the inscription for you in easy reading form,  specifically, the Unit(s) Fabian was assigned to at the time of  his death in Korea.

 

The abbreviation or short title "PFC"  on the second line on the plague didnt make any sense. It Could be some type of Patrol Unit  or  could be a repeat of his "rank",  "PFC".  The remaining of the  line  could mean Company G  lst Marine, lst Marine Division,according to Mr. Russell..

 

Mr. Russell,  U. S. Marine, Washington, D. C.  recommended that  for Archive purposes,  the inscription  as appear on the  Grave Plot Plague  should  be used.
