FIELD KENEDY - Stanley Boyd Field, 49, of Kenedy, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003. He was born Jan. 10, 1954, in Ballinger, to the late Frank Sr. and Helen Person Field. He received a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. Survivors: sisters, Ann Snell and Gloria Hardwick, both of San Antonio, June Trueblood of Dallas, and Ella Bandy of San Angelo; brothers, Clyde Houston and Frank Field Jr., both of San Antonio; and one grandchild. Survivors: sons, Lyle Schendel of Goliad and Larry Schendel of Runge; sisters, Marguerite Schmidt of Yorktown, Venecia Spellman of Tyler, Annie Bell Clark of San Antonio, and Vella Mae Strecker of Bazine, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Edward Dela GARZA KENEDY - Edward "Wasso" DeLa Garza, 60, of Kenedy, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003. He was born Dec. 31, 1942, in Beeville, to the late Luciano Sr. and Estanislada DeLa Garza. He was a food service supervisor and member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He was active in the Kenedy Sportsman Club and Little League. He helped manage the Kenedy Aces in the Bluebonnet League and became their manager in 1975. He also helped organize the Kenedy Royals. He was born March 2, 1909, in Helena, to the late Benigno and Ercilia Hinojosa Cantu. He was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad. He also worked for the Texas Highway Department, Ahrens Gin and Mill, and R.E.A. Co-op. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church of Kenedy, St. Cornelius Catholic Church of Karnes City, and the Cursillista. Survivors: wife, Gregoria Garcia Cantu; son, Ramon Cantu of Borger; daughters, Toni Barrientes of Galena Park, Janie Cruz, Connie Espinoza, Modesta Ortiz, Mary Perez, and Margarita Quintanilla, all of Karnes City; brother, Santos Cantu of San Antonio; sister, Leonor Avilez of Matamoros, Mexico; 39 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren.
