He was retired from Alcoa, having worked for 22 years as a pipefitter/instrumentation worker. He was a 1937 graduate of Kenedy High and Baptist. He was president of the Kenedy Cemetery Association for 10 years and a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 790 in Victoria. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces, serving as a staff sergeant with the 324th bomber squadron during World War II. Survivors: wife, Bernice Louise Burrage; daughters, Lynn L.
