June 3, 2004 Edward Kolodziej KARNES CITY - Edward Kolodziej, 56, of Karnes City, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. He was born March 11, 1948, in McCoy, to Mary Kolodziej of Falls City and the late Ben J. Kolodziej. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Survivors: brother, Robert Kolodziej of Falls City; and sisters, Nellrose Guerrero of Hobson and Betty Pawelek of Falls City. Preceded in death by: brother, Benjamin Kolodziej. Janek KARNES CITY - Edward Joe "Ed" Janek, 64, of Karnes City, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004. He was born Oct. 9, 1939, in Wilson County, to Lillie Bench Janek of Karnes City and the late Eddie Janek. He was a graduate of Floresville High School and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a reserve police officer for the Karnes City Police Department and a member of the Karnes City Fire Department. He was past president of Town & Country Days and president of Hochheim Prairie Insurance Branch No. 23. He worked for City Parts and was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. Survivors: wife, Lorene Janek; daughters, Sheila Moczygemba of Panna Maria and Sheri Kotora Jr. of Karnes City; sister, Mary Ann Fleming of Seguin; and four grandchildren. He was a farmer and rancher and a retired veterans' service officer, having worked 29 years for Karnes County. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, VFW Post 9189 and the KJZT Society. Survivors: wife, Regina Zezula Liska; daughters, Patricia Eichman and Stephanie Tips, both of San Antonio, and Janet Lott of Runge; sons, Jeffrey Liska of San Antonio and Tommy Liska of Victoria; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
