He was born April 29, 1926, in Texarkana, Ark., to the late Charles Hiram and Mattie O'Farrell Hyde. He was a retired plant operator for Sun Oil Co. He was also a master mason and a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenedy. Survivors: wife, Jean Hanks Hyde; daughters, Pamela Jean Hyde of Clear Lake and Nancy Dee Orsak of Warner Robins, Ga.; sons, Ronald R. Hyde of Kenedy, Charles Glen Hyde of Roanoke, and Billy Edward Hyde of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by: brother, Raymond Hyde.
