Gerald H. Sparks RUNGE - Maj. Gerald Hugh Sparks, 81, of Runge, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004. He was born April 16, 1923, in Anniston, Ala., to the late Thomas Elihugh and Ila Elaine Waters Sparks. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service and was a life member of Runge VFW Post 9189 and a sextant of the Runge City Cemetery. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Runge. Survivors: wife, Meta M. Sparks; daughters, Frances Elaine Burnette of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Elizabeth Enoree of Round Rock; sister, Joyce Lee Wright of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.
