Lena Wieding - PAWNEE KENEDY - Lena Wieding, 98, of Pawnee, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005. She was born July 31, 1906, in Shiner, to the late John and Meta Wittenberg Heiner. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors: daughters, Natha Lee Smitzer of Seguin, Ruth Haack of Lakehills, and Gladys Spielman of Devine; sons, Stan Wieding of Seguin and Milton Wieding of Bastrop; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, August Wieding; five sisters; and two brothers. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Karnes City, the Rev. David Collins officiating. Dziuk, 86, of Runge, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005. He was born May 10, 1918, in Panna Maria, to the late John and Annie Kowalik Dziuk. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and served on the parish council for 17 years. He served on the Ecleto Watershed District for 21 years and was a lifetime member of the Runge VFW. Survivors: wife, Annie Yanta Dziuk; daughter, Vivian Hudson of Victoria; son, Fred Dziuk of Floresville; brother, Vincent Dziuk of Falls City; and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by: sisters, Proxie Bludau and Mary Kotara; and brothers, Leo Dziuk and Wallace Dziuk. A rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. tonight at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel.
