He was a retired shop foreman for Karnes City Motor Company, member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, and past member of the Falls City Knights of Columbus. Survivors: daughter, Mary Ann Downey of San Antonio; five grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by: wife, Antonett "Toni" Wingenter; sisters, Mary Hackney and Agnes Kouth; and brothers, Henry Wingenter, Anton Wingenter, Pete Wingenter, and Frank Wingenter. She was born Aug. 15, 1988, in Kenedy, to John and Rose Marie Villarreal Gomez of Kenedy. She was a 2006-07 senior at Kenedy High School and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy. She was the 2006-07 year to be the cheerleading mascot, a member of the Kenedy High School Leopards volleyball and softball team, and a state qualifier for the Leopards power lifting team. June 26, 2006 DAN E. STOUT - KARNES CITY KARNES CITY - Dan E. Stout, 87, of Karnes City, died Saturday, June 24, 2006. He was born May 19, 1919, in Cove City, Ark. to the late Henry Wes and Cora H. James Stout. He was the last city marshal of Karnes City, a mason, and retired as chief of police of Karnes City. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Runge VFW and First Baptist Church in Karnes City. Survivors: wife, Mary Frances Richards Stout; daughter, Cora Pawelek of Luling; sons, West Stout of Mansfield and Daniel E. Stout II of Dripping Springs; sisters, Faye Elledge of Farmington, N.M., and Bess Giddeon of Amarillo; brother, W.M. Stout of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a retired survey engineer for the Texas Highway Department with 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II and a member of Runge VFW.
