Samuel Garza Rodriguez

Samuel Garza Rodriguez of Lubbock departed this life on Sept. 4, 2008, at the age of 65 years. He was born to Arnuelfo and Carlotta Garza Rodriguez on June 26, 1943, in Karnes County. Samuel moved to Lubbock from Karnes County in 1952 where he was a framer. Samuel was married for 30 years to Ernestina "Tina" Segovia. She preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are five children from his first marriage; three daughters, Irene DeLeon, Rita Rodriguez, and Mary Helen Rodriguez; two sons, Juan Rodriguez, and Samuel Rodriguez, Jr.; two daughters from his second marriage, Samantha Rodriguez and Ashley Rodriguez; 39 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernesto Rodriguez; and three sisters, Tina Rangel, Cindy Hernandez, and Yolanda Caballero.

Samuel is preceded in death by his wife; his father, Arnuelfo Rodriguez; his mother, Carlotta; and one brother, Fidel Rodriguez.

Rosary will be 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow.
